Draft Text

A resolution to honor the Tennessee Century Farms Program on its fiftieth anniversary for preserving family farms.

The Tennessee Century Farms Program, established in 1975, recognizes farms that have remained in continuous operation by the same family for 100 years or more. Celebrating its fiftieth anniversary, the program has honored more than 2,300 farms, with at least one Century Farm in every Tennessee county. It works with the Department of Agriculture to recognize family contributions to Tennessee agriculture. The program has also provided training opportunities for graduate students and encouraged historic recognition through National Register listings.
