The resolution honors Cheryl McKissack Daniel and the McKissack family for their contributions to history and culture. The family, founded in 1905, is the oldest minority- and woman-owned professional design and construction firm in the nation. Cheryl McKissack Daniel, the current CEO and fifth-generation leader, has overseen more than $50 billion in projects. The resolution also congratulates Cheryl on her book, "The Black Family Who Built America: The McKissacks, Two Centuries of Daring Pioneers.
