This resolution honors Dorris Parkins, a beloved community leader and artist from Milan, Tennessee. Dorris, who opened Dorris' Ceramics in 1970, shared her passion for art with many. She was active in the PTA, Freed-Hardeman College Associates, Graball Community Center, 4-H, and the YMCA, and was a fifty-year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Dorris was recognized for her contributions, including being named Tennessee's Handicapped Citizen of the Year in 1968. She is survived by eight children, twelve grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
