Draft Text

Honors Elon Musk and SpaceX for their successful rescue mission of two American astronauts stranded on the International Space Station.

This resolution commends Elon Musk and SpaceX for their historic rescue mission of two American astronauts, Captain Barry "Butch" Wilmore and Captain Sunita "Suni" Williams, who were stranded on the International Space Station. The astronauts had arrived at the ISS in June 2024 for an eight-day stay but were unable to return due to technical issues. After nearly 300 days in orbit, President Trump asked Elon Musk to facilitate their return. Musk launched the SpaceX Dragon to rescue the astronauts, who successfully returned to Earth on March 18, 2025.
