The bill amends the City of Morristown's government structure by extending the terms of certain council members and the mayor, and setting new election rules. Council members previously representing the first and third wards, and the at-large member, elected in May 2021, will remain in their positions until 2028. Similarly, council members representing the second and fourth wards, and the at-large member, elected in May 2023, will remain until their successors are elected in 2026. The mayor and council members must be at least 21 years old and bona fide residents of Tennessee.
