This bill repeals various laws related to the Hamblen County Highway Department, effective August 31, 2028. It abolishes the Hamblen County Road Commission and creates the office of Road Superintendent, who will be elected by popular vote every four years. The new role also allows the Superintendent to oversee the Hamblen County Sanitation Department, subject to approval by the county's legislative body.
