HB2622 amends Tennessee law to extend the time limit for expunging criminal records from 30 to 45 days.
HB2622 modifies Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 8-21-401 and Title 40 to change the time limit for expunging criminal records. The bill deletes the current "thirty (30) days" language and replaces it with "forty-five (45) days." This change affects individuals seeking to have their criminal records expunged, giving them more time to complete the process. The act will take effect immediately upon becoming law.
