Tennessee HB2475 amends various state laws to strengthen background checks for individuals working in schools and child care agencies. The bill requires local boards of education, public charter schools, local education agencies, participating schools, and private schools to submit employee names to the Department of Children's Services for investigation. The department must determine if these individuals have committed child abuse, severe child abuse, child sexual abuse, or child neglect.
