Tennessee Fluoride-Free Water Act prohibits adding fluoride to drinking water and bottled water sold in the state.
The Tennessee Fluoride-Free Water Act amends state law to prohibit the addition of fluoride or fluoride-containing compounds to drinking water delivered through public water systems. It also bans the sale of bottled water containing added fluoride, including sodium fluoride, fluorosilicic acid, and sodium fluorosilicate. Bottled water with naturally occurring fluoride must be labeled with its fluoride concentration. If the concentration exceeds 0.7 mg/L, the label must include a warning.
