Introduced·2/2/26
Draft Text

Establishes a fund to support rural counties in Tennessee for infrastructure, law enforcement, and emergency services.

This bill creates a special account called the rural revenue equity fund within the state general fund, with an annual appropriation of $210 million. The fund will support rural counties in Tennessee for capital improvement projects, infrastructure, law enforcement, firefighter and emergency medical services, and property tax stabilization. Counties will receive funds based on a weighted scoring system that considers factors such as land under greenbelt classification, agricultural sales, and population.
