This bill amends Tennessee's temporary assistance program by transferring funds from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) rainy-day fund to the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF). The transfer must not exceed 30% of the TANF fund and is intended to support the Smart Steps Program, Tennessee's child care assistance program. The bill mandates that the Smart Steps Program maintain its existing fee schedule and co-pay policies. Additionally, the Department of Human Services must annually publish a report detailing the program's balances and expenditures.
