Tennessee HB2344 amends state law to prioritize local businesses in government contracts, requiring a local bidding period. Local businesses must have a physical office in the county, employ residents, and be registered to do business in the state. Local governments with centralized purchasing and a full-time purchasing agent must provide a 30-day local bidding period for contracts over $25,000. Other local governments must provide a 30-day local bidding period for contracts over $50,000.
