Tennessee HB2302 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 55, Chapter 30 and Title 55, Chapter 8 to establish procedures for handling traffic violations committed by autonomous vehicles. If a law enforcement officer determines a traffic offense has been committed by an autonomous vehicle, a notice of violation or citation must be sent by first-class mail to the vehicle's registered owner. The notice must include the fine amount and any additional fees or court costs. The registered owner has 30 days to pay the fine or contest the citation.
