Tennessee HB2227 amends Tennessee Code to expand parental rights concerning firearm safety instruction in schools. It allows parents or guardians to opt their children out of such instruction by providing written notice to the school principal. The bill also requires local education agencies and public charter schools to notify parents about the firearm safety instruction at least 30 days before it is provided. The changes take effect immediately upon becoming law.
