Tennessee HB2188 amends state laws to enhance support and services for children with intellectual or developmental disabilities in state custody.

Tennessee HB2188 amends various state laws to improve services for children with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) in state custody. The bill requires the Department of Children's Services to collaborate with the Department of Disability and Aging (DDA) to ensure appropriate placements, quality oversight, and individualized support plans for these children. DDA will also develop training for department staff and providers, and assign care coordinators to ensure effective service delivery. The department must submit annual reports on these efforts to relevant committees.
