Tennessee HB2133 amends the Tennessee Secondary Aluminum Waste Management Act to establish new rules for the disposal of secondary aluminum waste. The bill prohibits the commingling of municipal solid waste with secondary aluminum waste in landfills. It mandates that secondary aluminum waste be disposed of in dedicated landfill units, such as monofills and monocells, which must be specifically permitted for this purpose. The bill also prohibits the addition of secondary aluminum waste or municipal solid waste on top of waste in previously filled or closed units.
