Tennessee HB2051 amends retail store regulations to ensure safety and staffing at self-service checkout stations.

Tennessee HB2051, known as "The Tennessee Safe Stores and Staffed Stores Act," mandates that drug and food retail establishments provide at least one staffed checkout station for every four self-service checkout stations. It also limits self-service checkout purchases to no more than fifteen items and requires stores to prominently post signage about self-service checkout operations. The bill includes provisions for civil penalties against establishments that fail to comply with these requirements and prohibits retaliation against employees who enforce these rights.
