Establishes an additional criminal court in the thirtieth judicial district of Tennessee, effective September 1, 2026.

This bill creates a new criminal court, designated as part IX, in the thirtieth judicial district of Tennessee. Effective September 1, 2026, the governor will appoint a judge for this new court, who will serve until September 1, 2028. At the August 2028 general election, voters will elect a judge to serve until September 1, 2030. Future judges will be elected for an eight-year term. The bill also amends existing Tennessee Code to reflect this change.
