Tennessee HB2018 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4, Title 7, Title 38, and Title 41 to mandate that law enforcement agencies accept and honor immigration detainers from federal immigration authorities. Effective July 1, 2026, this means agencies must comply with the conditions in the detainer, including holding the subject for up to 48 hours beyond their release date and notifying federal authorities before releasing the subject.
