Introduced·1/22/26
Draft Text

Tennessee HB1993 amends medical laboratory fee schedules and reimbursement rates.

Tennessee HB1993 amends the Tennessee Code to adjust medical laboratory fee schedules and reimbursement rates. It prohibits health insurance issuers from denying a licensed medical laboratory the right to participate in a policy, contract, or plan on the same terms as other laboratories. It also prevents insurers from preventing policyholders from selecting a licensed medical laboratory of their choice for services. Additionally, it mandates that non-network laboratories meet the same performance metrics as in-network laboratories to receive reimbursement rates.
