Tennessee HB1965, known as the "Tennessee Child Care Hosting Safe Harbor Act," amends state law to protect employers and host entities from civil liability for the actions or omissions of licensed child care providers. This protection applies unless the employer or host entity operates, controls, or manages the child care provider, is licensed as a child care provider, or employs, supervises, or directs the child care provider's staff. The act also excludes liability if gross negligence or willful misconduct is involved. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
