Tennessee HB1948 amends education code to allow single-sex programs if comparable benefits are offered to the opposite sex.

Tennessee HB1948 amends Title 49 of the Tennessee Code Annotated to clarify that public educational institutions are not in violation if they offer programs exclusively for one sex, provided they offer substantially similar or reasonably comparable opportunities or benefits to the opposite sex through different programs. This act becomes effective immediately upon becoming law.
