HB1923

Tennessee HB1923 amends notary public regulations, enhancing training, testing, and record-keeping requirements.

Tennessee HB1923 introduces significant changes to the requirements for notaries public. It mandates a notary public basic education course, a written examination, and a competency certificate from the county commission. Notaries must keep detailed records of all notarizations, including dates, jurats, and identification details. The bill also increases the bond amount for notaries from $10,000 to $50,000. These changes aim to modernize and strengthen the standards for notaries public in Tennessee.
