Allows certain long-serving Tennessee legislators to have their nominating petition signed by voters from outside their district.
This bill amends Tennessee Code to allow a senator who has served at least eight consecutive years or a representative who has served at least ten consecutive years to have their nominating petition signed by registered voters residing in the county where their district is located, even if those voters are not eligible to vote in that member's office. This act becomes effective immediately upon becoming law.
