Final Passage·4/14/26
Draft Text

Tennessee HB1882 amends state university board appointment terms and confirmation requirements.

Tennessee HB1882 modifies the appointment process and term lengths for state university board members. Members appointed by the governor must now be confirmed by a joint resolution of the senate and house of representatives before beginning their term. The bill also changes the start and end dates of board member terms, setting them to begin on February 1 and expire six years later. Existing members' terms are extended to align with these new dates.
