This bill amends Tennessee law to expand the circumstances under which a person can use deadly force to defend property. It allows the use of deadly force to prevent or terminate acts such as trespass, arson, property damage, burglary, theft, robbery, or aggravated cruelty to animals. The use of deadly force is justified if the person reasonably believes it is necessary and that there are no other means to protect the property or terminate the threat. The bill takes effect upon becoming law.
