Tennessee HB1786 amends Tennessee Code Annotated to limit the moorage of recreational vessels. It prohibits mooring a vessel for more than 14 consecutive days at one place along a reservoir's water's edge or within one mile of the edge. It also bans establishing temporary moorage within primary or secondary navigation channels of the Tennessee River system and placing mooring lines in a way that blocks or hinders boating access. Violating these provisions is a Class C misdemeanor, unless the vessel has a federal permit for permanent or extended mooring. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
