HB1733 amends Tennessee Code to redefine harassment as an act by a school employee or student that substantially interferes with a victim's educational benefits, opportunities, or performance. It expands the scope of harassment to include acts off school property or outside school-sponsored activities if they create a substantial disruption to the education environment. The bill also establishes consequences for school employees found to have committed harassment, including dismissal or suspension. The act applies to offenses committed on or after July 1, 2026.
