Tennessee HB1712 amends Title 55, Chapter 8 of the Tennessee Code to allow local governments to prohibit class 1 or class 2 electric bicycles on bicycle paths or trails in public parks or greenways they own or operate. If a local government adopts such a prohibition, they must submit a copy of the resolution or ordinance to the Department of Safety. The department can then compile and publish a list of these prohibited areas on its website. This act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
