Tennessee HB1686 amends the performance-based contracting program for correctional services.

Tennessee HB1686 amends the performance-based contracting program for correctional services. The Department of Correction must develop a program to incentivize improved performance and outcomes from contractors. The program conditions the release of 25% of the total funds appropriated to the contractor on yearly performance improvements based on a set of performance measures. The department must allocate at least 50% of the conditional funds based on improved recidivism and 15% based on improved inmate safety.
