Draft Text

HB1660 amends Tennessee law to grant immunity to racing facilities from certain claims by surrounding property owners.

HB1660 amends Tennessee law to provide immunity to racing facilities and racetracks from claims by owners of surrounding real property if the facility was built before the property owner acquired or improved their property. This immunity applies to nuisance, taking, or other claims, regardless of changes to the facility. Political subdivisions cannot adopt ordinances restricting racing facilities in ways inconsistent with this act. The act does not exempt racing facilities from state or federal environmental laws or health and safety regulations.
