This bill modifies Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 55-8-199, by changing the penalties for using electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle. It removes the previous penalty structure and replaces it with court costs and state and local litigation taxes for violations. The changes take effect July 1, 2026, and apply to violations occurring on or after that date.
