Amends Tennessee financial aid eligibility for the HOPE scholarship for transfer students.
This bill amends Tennessee Code to expand eligibility for the Tennessee HOPE scholarship for transfer students. If a student is ineligible for the HOPE scholarship as an entering freshman due to GPA or ACT scores, they can still qualify as a transfer student if they meet certain conditions. These include meeting specific requirements, enrolling in an eligible postsecondary institution within six months of earning their first associate degree or certificate, maintaining eligibility for the Tennessee Promise scholarship, and achieving a GPA of at least 3.0 at the postsecondary institution.
