Tennessee HB1513 amends the Transparency for Deepfakes in Political Advertising Act. It requires that audio and video deepfakes impersonating candidates for elected office include a disclaimer stating the content is fake. For video, the disclaimer must be in large letters throughout the video, while for audio, it must appear at the beginning and end. Broadcasters, hosts, third-party producers, and carriers are not liable unless they are responsible for the communication. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
