HB1406

AN ACT to amend Chapter 116 of the Private Acts of 2000; and any other acts amendatory thereto, relative to Fayette County.

Complete·5/8/25

HB1406 amends Fayette County's special wheel or privilege tax collection and allocation.

HB1406 modifies how Fayette County collects and allocates a special wheel or privilege tax for motor vehicles. The county clerk must report monthly funds collected and transfer them to the county trustee. One hundred percent of the collected tax, excluding clerk's fees, goes into the county general fund, which can be used for general fund purposes or transferred to the driven vehicle fund. The clerk receives a fee of one dollar for each license issued. The tax entitles the owner to a decal for the vehicle's license plate.
