Establishes extreme risk protection orders to prevent individuals from accessing firearms or ammunition if they pose a significant danger to.

This bill creates a process for issuing extreme risk protection orders to prevent individuals from accessing firearms or ammunition if they pose a significant danger to themselves or others. A petitioner, which can be a law enforcement officer or a family member, can file a petition for an extreme risk protection order if they believe the respondent poses a danger. The court can issue a temporary ex parte order without notice to the respondent if there is reasonable cause to believe the respondent poses a danger.
