Revives civil actions for sexual assault occurring after age 18, barred by statute of limitations, for claims filed between six months and two years.
Tennessee HB1301 amends the state code to revive civil actions for sexual assault that occurred when the victim was 18 or older, if the applicable statute of limitations expired before July 1, 2025. Claims can be filed between six months and two years after July 1, 2025. Dismissal of a previous action before July 1, 2025, does not bar a revived action. Sexual assault includes rape, sexual battery, and incest.
