Tennessee HB1294 amends Tennessee Code Annotated to regulate the dissemination of printed materials to state inmates. It prohibits materials that could incite violence, advocate lawlessness, or pose security threats. Correctional institutions can deny materials that incite violence based on race, religion, sex, creed, or nationality, or that advocate lawlessness, violence, anarchy, or rebellion. Materials that give instructions for the manufacturing or use of contraband items, contain escape plans, or feature nudity or sexually explicit content are also prohibited.
