HB1286 amends Tennessee burial laws to require bodies to be buried within 48 hours unless an autopsy is requested.

HB1286 amends Tennessee burial laws by adding a new section to Title 68, Chapter 4. It mandates that if a person or government agency assumes custody of a body for burial and does not request an autopsy or embalming, the body must be buried within 48 hours.
