Allows local boards of education and public charter school governing bodies to employ or accept volunteers as school chaplains.

This bill amends Tennessee Code to allow local boards of education and public charter school governing bodies to employ or accept volunteers as school chaplains. These chaplains can provide support, services, and programs for students, school staff, and parents. The chaplains are not required to be certified by the state board of education but must undergo criminal history record checks and investigations. They are also granted immunity from liability for actions taken or statements made in accordance with their duties, except in cases of malicious intent to cause harm or harassment.
