Tennessee HB1216 amends the state's minimum wage laws to establish a higher minimum wage, set at the greater of the federal minimum wage or $20.00 per hour. It also mandates that employers pay employees at least one and one-half times their regular wage rate for any work done over 40 hours in a week. Employers found in violation of these wage requirements are liable for unpaid wages, court costs, and reasonable attorneys' fees.
