Tennessee HB1199 amends the state's education code to mandate that each local education agency (LEA) with at least one high school must select a junior or senior student to serve as a nonvoting student representative on the board. The student must attend all board meetings but cannot attend confidential, nonpublic executive sessions. If a student misses more than two meetings, they will be removed and replaced.
