Tennessee HB1097 amends state law to allow the attorney general and reporter to investigate actions or policies of local governments upon request from a member of the general assembly. The attorney general must report findings within 30 days, notifying the local government of any violations. If violations are found, the attorney general may withhold state funds and take legal action. The act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
