Tennessee HB1046 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 63 and Title 68, concerning anatomical gifts. It allows individuals to refuse organ donations through a signed writing or a terminal patient through an oral statement. It mandates procurement organizations to contact specified persons within six hours of a decedent's heartbeat cessation. If a refusal exists, organizations must not contact the specified person. If a refusal does not exist and no bar exists, organizations may contact the specified person.
