This bill amends Tennessee law to extend the statute of limitations for prosecuting certain child sexual abuse offenses. It modifies the time frame for commencing proceedings for offenses occurring between July 1, 2019, and July 1, 2025, and sets new time limits for offenses occurring after July 1, 2025. The changes require the prosecution to provide corroborating evidence for offenses occurring more than 25 years after the victim turns 18, and more than 30 years for offenses occurring after July 1, 2025. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2025.
