Establishes a statewide strategic buffer stock for emergency preparedness and drug shortage prevention.

The bill amends Tennessee Code to establish a statewide strategic buffer stock for emergency preparedness and drug shortage prevention. This buffer stock, maintained by the Department of Health, includes essential emergency and chronic disease management medicines, vaccines, and medical supplies. The commissioner, in consultation with the director of TEMA, will establish guidelines for the procurement, management, and distribution of these supplies, including a virtually sequestered buffer stock.
