Establishes a grant program for nonprofit and faith-based child care programs for children under four years old.
The bill amends Tennessee Code to establish a grant program for nonprofit and faith-based child care programs serving children aged four and under. To qualify, programs must be licensed, in good standing with the Department of Human Services, and operate on an income-based pricing model. Priority is given to programs in areas defined as "child care deserts," where there are more than 50 children under five and limited licensed child care options.
