Amends Tennessee law to exempt certain areas from compensatory mitigation for aquatic resource alteration permits.
This bill amends Tennessee law to modify the conditions under which compensatory mitigation is required for aquatic resource alteration permits (ARAP). Specifically, if the only reason an applicant is not eligible for a general permit is the size of the area, the department must exempt an area of equal size from compensatory mitigation. This change takes effect July 1, 2025.
