Tennessee HB0550 amends retirement planning laws to allow private entities to provide retirement plan information to employees.

Tennessee HB0550, known as the "Fairness in Benefits Act," amends Tennessee Code to allow employers participating in the Tennessee consolidated retirement system to permit private entities to disseminate information about alternative retirement plans and supplemental benefits to employees. These plans must be the functional equivalent of qualified retirement plans under the Internal Revenue Code. The act takes effect upon becoming law.
