Tennessee HB0542 modifies utility regulations concerning the review and inspection of plans for water, electric, and natural gas infrastructure. Utilities must complete plan reviews within thirty days or refund fees. If a utility fails to act within ten business days after receiving third-party examiner reports, the plans are considered approved. Utilities can charge fees for inspections after third-party approval, capped at two percent of the development cost. The act applies to plans submitted on or after July 1, 2025.
